Default ECS sent me used Headliner?

edit: the replacement headliner they sent me is still a disappointment

Sigh, got my replacement headliner. Unfortunately, once again it has issues that I can’t overlook. The fabric is in better shape than the last one (still has few oil like stains like before but I’ll ignore this as I may be able to remove it).

There is however a long crease, that is very noticeable. The crease is not just on the fabric, it’s also on the backing so this side of the headliner is not as sturdy. The box it came in was also in perfect structural shape so I doubt the crease was from shipping (although possible I guess). This is getting very annoying and I’m not sure what options I have left. I just sent them an email and will call shortly. Any suggestions are welcomed.

The original headliner they sent me:

So I ordered brand new BMW Euro slicktop headliner from ECS. Upon inspection I notice multiple grease marks that doesn’t seem to come off, faded areas that made fabric white, and dirt marks on edges where it attaches to pillars confirming it was mounted before. The entire headliner is also very grainy and you can see/feel the grains (like someone rubbed the entire thing with wire brush).

What do you guys think? My 15yr old headliner is in much better condition than this. Looks decent but I paid a lot for this so I want perfect, and box is huge where freight shipping was used so returns would suck. It’s worse in person, picture hides a lot of the flaws.

does not look used from the pictures posted, but curious what you paid for it shipped? I've got one of these that needs to be recovered with fabric just sitting in my garage

on second look, I see the discoloration, not sure what would make it white like that as UV's wouldn't make that change

Was that the last one they had in stock? It’s funny you post this because I almost bought their “last slicktop headliner” about 2 months ago for my car. I ended up paying a shop $250 to just redo mine instead. Sorry that you received something like that from them. You should definitely call and complain. I could guess what you paid based on the quote they gave me but it’s quite a bit and something like that is unacceptable

No I paid much more than $350. I think I paid $750 shipped, but not entirely sure.

My biggest issue is the grain of the entire headliner, it feels hard and grainy.

Ok so they’re sending me a new one after they saw the pics, I asked them to make sure it’s good before shipping out this time. Freaking sucks I have to keep this huge box in my living room and repackaging this thing.

Thanks guys

Agreed, that doesn't look right. You have a PM from me as I'd like to look into this further as selling used parts as new is a big deal and NOT our practice.

And it sounds like my customer service staff is making this right, please let me know if I need to step in.
