What is the difference between this repair kit and BMW's SMG hydraulic pump, part#21532229715? Can you rebuild the SMG tranny hydraulic pump?

This kit only replaces the smg motor ~ $500. Most smg hydro unit issues stems from a worn motor and or accumulator. Unfortunately Bmw does not sell the motor alone. They only sell the complete smg hydro unit for ~ $3200. I haven't seen a hydraulics repair kit yet.

Bump to the top! 4 more to go. If you have an SMG car, plan to keep it for a while, and do not know when the pump was last changed, get in on this!

Waiting to order a few things from them, and Johannes advised to wait until the group buy is ready so he can ship everything to me at once.

Add me to the list please.

If you rely on the car, or don't want to miss track days because it goes out, there is no point waiting until you have a problem. I've actually got a spare pump, accumulator and actuator on hand from a 30k mi 6MT swap (got the whole set for a grand!!!), but I plan well ahead.

My usual suspects track crew laughed in admiration when I did a front wheel hub swap in the paddock at the track one time and had all the kit necessary to do it. :P

I would be interested if anybody can chime in why is this motor better that a rebuild motor from Eurtone. Eurtone rebuild the motor for SMG for approx $300 vs burkhard motor ~$500.
I know that the question has been asked before but, unfortunately Johannes ar Burkhard didn't offer any details why their motor is better that oem. Daytona do you have any details to support one way vs the other?
Thank you

Add me to the list please. I'm down for just the motor, the standard Pentosin fluid is available
at O'reillys in CA and probably others, no need to import fluids from Germany.

Also, we can share the tool, perhaps an arrangement where each person pays 25%
rent via paypal to the person who buys it. That way, > 4 users== Profit!

My MY2002 SMG, currently 117k miles, had a purely mechanical SMG fault a few years ago wherein the clutch fork broke through the retaining clips
and pivots, grinded against the clutch basket. Eventually, the slave pushrod punched through the thinned metal and got stuck in it. Strangest random computer codes and unintelligable responses to test cycling. Made no sense until we started tearing things apart.
