I highly doubt that you're experiencing similar quality issues with your cars.
I had two W221 cars and both were bank vault solid in terms of squeaks and rattles throughout my ownership. My W221 S600 was a 2007 and I got rid of it in 2015, and the car was drum tight. No rattles, squeaks or anything. Unlike my W222.

Damn those r class have held their value really well in the past few years, maybe even starting to go up a bit.

my in-laws have a 2011 R350 - diesel. I have driven it 950 miles to Florida twice recently....running 75-85 mph most of the way it averaged 30 miles per gallon for the trip.

Unfortunately after 80k miles it has turned into a money pit. Most issues stemming from the diesel / fuel / emissions system on the car.

This is exactly why I stayed away from the Bluetecs. THe factory specified oil change interval is just not enough. So they tend to sludge up with higher miles. My 2008 GL320 CDI is still chugging along. Have small issues with sensors here and there but otherwise love the truck.

They seem hit and miss. My w211 has a few rattles from the panoramic roof that I need to track down, but otherwise is silent. Our W210’s have all been bank fault status, as is my mom’s new S213.

Fail, I meant S212. The new wagon is gorgeous though.

FWIW, my prefacelift C63 has not had one sqeuak or rattle in the 3.5 years i owned it. In fact, there hasnt been a single problem with the car. Most solid and reliable car I've ever owned by far. And, as the previous video I posted here shows, I dont pu$$y foot it.
