But why would a cheap coilover belong in a thread about DD suspension? Maybe a thread about a scene car, garage queen, cyn carver, though the answer would still be no, at least where any regard for ride quality exists.

I wouldnít call the ST-XTA setup cheap at around $1400 but I wouldnít call it expensive either.

This. The STís are quite expensive when you factor in how little performance they offer over alternatives.

Well I guess my question has been answered.
Interesting as I have them on my A4 and they are pretty comfortable for my commute in and out of DC everyday. They are pretty popular in that scene...
So I guess Iím glad I asked. Next question....

Who wants to buy a BNIB ST-XTA coilover kit

And who wants to sell me their Ground control kit?

As far as I've seen, that's the "regular" price. I don't think anyone ever pays full list.

Are all coilover setups pretty harsh rides for street cars?

Well, for comparison, that same kit is 950 on tire rack and over 1000 if you piece meal it. I guess in either case, if you can get them for a price in the 900 range, youre doing well, or if you just want the shocks, it appears as though tirerack has them in stock for 750~

I put 5,000 miles on my Megan Euro II coilovers and on full soft they were very comfortable.

And it's true, cheap doesn't mean low msrp and low msrp doesn't mean cheap
