Default warranty expiration/service bulletin question

Hi all. Yes, another warranty expiration question (already searched). 2005 M3 vert with 17,500 miles, warranty expiring July 5, 2009. I am looking for service bulletins that have been issued and relate to my M3. I remember reading about an SB re: noisy vert tops - something about dealer inserting a rubber tube in the weatherstripping to give it better sealing capability. I bought it from an individual so the dealer is not my friend! Car has CPO and maintenance agreement is also expiring (10,250 until Inspection I). She is running great - only item is tranny gears feel like they are not synched (grabbing the shifter feeling) going into 2 or 3 around 3K rpms (feels better when I shift at 4.5 - 5K).

Does anyone know of any other SB's I should inform the dealer about when I take it in for annual (not covered!) oil change? Thanks for the help

Look for this: SIB 51 01 02 Noise From Convertible Side Windows E46

Here is a link to most of the SIBs to review.

Good luck!

Thank Itchyn - I have an appt next Thursday at the dealer and SA said mine needed software updates and that they will give the car a good onceover since the warranty is about to expire. The SA has an E36 M3 so he's pretty much in touch with the latest on M3's.

Hello everyone, sorry to rehash an old thread like this but I have a similar question. My CPO is about to expire in the next month and I'm curious about any specific items I should have the dealership check out just in case before that happens. My car runs fine with no significant issues to mention but I wonder if there's something I could/should have them check out that could be fixed under CPO before it runs out. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. Thank you very, very much for you help in advance!

Hi Redhawk, I randomly read your above post and think I may have a similar issue with the tranny that you mention above. My car runs fine but I do notice a little uneasiness when shifting to 2nd under lower RPM's (3-4). As you mentioned, the shifting is much smoother at 4.5 or 5k. I'm wondering if you can advise on what you may have done to remediate the issue for your car. Thanks a lot for the insight!

Bump for the above questions. I know it's not a real sexy topic but I sure would love some insights from the experts. Pretty please?

Have them check the power steering hoses. They love to leak.. and are a PITA to replace on the M3.. chances are excellent they are leaking around the bottom of the PS fluid reservior.

Awesome! Thanks a million deilenberger, that's just the kind of advice I was looking for. Though I don't have any specific issues to point to at the moment I figure I might as well have a once over before the CPO expires just in case there is something that could be fixed under that coverage. That said, I wonder if leaky hoses would be covered under CPO or if that's considered 'wear'. In any case, I appreciate the input and welcome any other suggestions. This is why I come back to this forum all the time!
