I ended up getting some other ones that would have cost around $90 shipped (from Latvia)... I would just take my lesson and only buy the units that are 5 out of 5 stars.

I also applied a bead of clear silicone around the perimeter before installing at the gap between the lens and backing plate to help mitigate moisture behind the lens causing it to fail.
The people who bought these from this seller reviewed them very positive. They said they were in excellent condition. Maybe you had a bad set.

He only had about 3 left when I posted this. They went within the hour. $60 shipped is ridiculously cheap for these.

There are a couple of other sellers selling the same thing for around $90 shipped - which is around the same price as Khoalty, Bimmian, etc... however, these are OE which are $270 at ECSTuning.

Agreed, I was going to list my set for $100 shipped, this was a steal!

And for pre-facelift - what I gather from your statement is that you need create slack by basically trying to see if you can extend the wire so it will plug into the Mirror base plate heating element connector, right?
I'm not sure if all M3's have the wiring for heated mirrors but it looks like OneTimeM3 installed them fine and he doesn't have the cold weather package (I do however). You're correct, there are two wires that need to be extended a bit to plug into the mirror base heating element.

Here's where I got mine from, the pictures were exactly what I received and the quality was almost perfect.

Ebay uswomanseller

Here's a comparison of the old and new driver's side mirrors.
