This would allow the oil to properly warm-up to your choice of activation temperature (160, 185, 200) prior to running fluid to the cooler.

Correct, a small percentage of oil flow will still reach the cooler prior to thermostat activation.

+1!

Is anyone running this inline oil thermostat? I'm having an overcooling issue w/ my mishimoto oil cooler- car takes forever to warm up so I'd like to add this to the mix.

It's the same thing as the $45 unit on eBay. I'm about to run it in a month. It's installed...just need to finish the roll cage and get the car on the road.

Bump for info on in-line thermostat. Looking to pickup one of these soon with a diverter valve and was wondering if anyone has dimensions for the AN lines needed to hook this up plug and play to the OE oil cooler?

It depends of your setup. VAC use -10AN fittings for oil cooler and oil filter housing adapters. Just buy the thermostat with the same fittings size and buy in lenght excess the oil tube. The tube is too cheap to worry with wasted tube, and cut in place for the correct size. Then go to any specialized shop to install the -10AN fittings on the tubes.

Oh ok. I was under the impression that the tubing most people were using doesn't contour to tight areas very well, but I may be wrong.

Any recommendations on tubing? If this is as simple as it sounds, going to do this sooner rather than later!

Hmm... Looks like I just need two of these kits, -10 AN adapters and some hard lines

Where did you end up mounting yours? Any issues with oil reaching operating temp or does it function like oem for warmup?

I mounted it next to the power steering fluid reservoir. It works like normal. It recirculates most of the oil back to the engine. There is a small amount of oil that goes through the cooler during warm up to maintain pressure in the oil cooler loop.
