Went to a 335I with bolt ons for a DD. After replacing damn near everything on the motor, I now DD a supecharged E90 M3. A supercharged E46 M3 SUCKS to DD since it makes all its power above 5000rpms.

N54 sounds like a nightmare to DD from what I'm told.

Remember that monster shunt of his in Canada? The next day, as he walked out of hospital, a journalist asked him if he'd seen the crash on TV. Robert Kubica stopped, looked the journo right in the eye and said: "I've seen it twice: the first time I was there!"

When my car was down getting big maintenance I was toying the idea of leasing an i3 REX just to get a real life idea of what BMW is trying to do in the future of their vehicles as well as even out some of my carbon footprint from the M...LOL.

Punching in all the numbers as I can write off most of the vehicle bills for business, it would only cost a few grand per year to drive one and satisfy my curiosity. I've driven my friend's i3 REX and while it's a weird looking car in most people's eyes, it was a fun experience.

Bought the car at 20k miles and by 50k miles, I replaced BOTH turbos, wg actuators, VANOS solenoids, and a bunch of other stuff. I think the bill ran north of 12k or something. Luckily, the warranty covered it all with the exception of the deductibles but still.

I live in Philadelphia proper. (not the burbs) I drove my e46 M3 daily for ~2 yrs and it was not the best experience. Winter, horrible roads and parking congestion can make it nerve wracking experience.

The M3 moved to garage duty and I picked up a diesel F31 (great lease deal) and then a gas F31 (CPO purchase). When the diesel lease came to an end, the Mk7 GTI, Mk7 Golf R, F30 335i and E91 were all top contenders. I decided on another F31 with a 5+ year hold plan.

It's the perfect blend of utility (AWD, capacity), style (MSport looks awesome), economy (20s/30s MPG) and decent performance (Dinan mods planned) while being very unique. The Golf R was a very close second, but I ultimately chose to stay in the BMW family. I highly recommend these cars.

As of last year my real daily is a Yukon XL Denali, although I️ take either M3 more regularly than most people who have a different DD. We just rotate cars, but the Denali gets driven pretty much every day by one of us.

License plate is “M3 BFF”
