Default Open ITB on s14

Hi,

I'm following this forum for very long time, really great forum which have been solving and answering all of my queries.. (almost) hehe

Now, I'm on to a project to restore my s14 engine and to perform som tuning with cams, alu flywheel and a generally fresh upp and I got the idea and interrest to fit open velocity stacks to it? its not a daily driver and I know the consequences of running open ITB's so lets not go into that.
I have been searching a lot and haven't find anybody do that installation, can anybody here direct me to a thread with this mod? or have you any experience of it, will work or not on an s14?

yeah, spent many hours there searching also.. there is a lot about the s38/s50/s54 but not for the s14
many of them is running carbon airbox with alpha-N
I've seen that its used on race engines but not on small modified s14:s

Yes that should work, either with Alpha-N or with a stand alone ecu, but have anyone done it before? Will I loose power, gain power is it worth the try?

most people use an airbox because its a better idea in terms of filtration and feeding the engine cold air. different volumes can also improve power and torque compared to open trumpets

I have been searching and searching without any succes of this mod. Everybody is going with the airbox and Alpha-N system..
So because if i dont try it I will go crazy so after some more research I finally took the desiscion to invest on an HallTech stand-alone ECU and I'll get the trumpets manufactured at a machine shop.. I dont know yet how long the trumpet will be to make it work so Ill manufacture to different lengths and try..
