Sounds like your solution is going to incorporate some device running Linux, eh? That's a bit further than I'd like to take this integration, plus I don't want to send audio data to the Google mothership. . Either way, good luck with your project!

Oh, yeah. I'm mainly building this for me, so I have a vested interest in making it work correctly. This is also why I'm building in firmware update support, that way I can continue to work bugs out as they crop up.

Hey Freddie! Your car has a CD53, right? If so, I'll send you a unit out when I get prototypes built, for testing.

Anyways, for anyone wondering, my timeline is to have the software done in a month or so, then move on towards designing the prototype PCB and having test units built in ~3 months. Keep in mind that I have a full time job and a four month old daughter, so free time is hard to come by

Thanks. Yes, going all in with Linux trying to make a modern car computer without a touchscreen. Ultimately I'm making something for myself, combing a lot of interests. BTW, it's nice to see other people digging into ibus stuff. Hacktheibus seems to be about dead these days.

Default Interest in a fully integrated A2DP Bluetooth solution?

I am interested in this development as well. This is all I need in my car and without removing the stock headunit. Keep updated on progress.

I have a fully stock Car with business cd (mp3 version). If you need a beta tester in TX, let me know.

If you're keen on reading source code, I did a pretty good job of mapping a bunch of I-Bus functionality for my last I-Bus related project: https://github.com/tedsalmon/DroidIB...s/ibus/systems

Anyways, just to update everyone, I have most of the framework for the software laid out and I'm beginning to write in functionality to interact with the Bluetooth module. I have a CD53 on the way that I'll use to start the I-Bus integration with.

Small update -- I have the basic integration for the "Business Radio" completed.
Here's a video - Please note that I hit the "Mode" button to switch from FM to the Bluetooth interface:

That works great! Does it connect automatically once the module is recognized by the phone?
