Default Coding VIN into virginized DME

Like a moron, I virginized my DME about a year ago. I've been working around it but now I need to code the VIN back in to update my Evolve tune to delete the EWS in the tune.

So...I tried this tutorial...

https://www.ecuworx.co.uk/2016/02/26...f-with-tool32/

The problem is I change the argument and its blank below the AIF_ADRESSE_LOW value. I've gone up to argument 5 and its blank.

So how do I find the following values?

Software #
Authority #
Assembly #
Serial #
Handler #
AIF Programmed KM
AIF Program #

Default Re: Coding VIN into virginized DME

Here's a sample of my AIF string:

IF_ADRESS_LOW; VIN; Today Date; Software Number ; Authority Number; Assembly Number; Serial Number; Handler Number; AIF Programmed KM; AIF Program Number

FFFF;WBSBL9343YXX#####;260215;DA;7842972;7833179;7 842971;NFS01;240;156220;002801

I got these numbers from http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=423771 the chart is on the bottom so, cross reference "Contents of MSS54.DAT:" with your version string and what calibration or program data you have on the DME.

Software # = SW-NR
Authority # = TYP-NR
Assembly # = ZB-NR
Serial # = NFS01 (I forgot where I got this, probably copied from old AIF)
Handler #= 240 (dealer #? or copied from old AIF)
AIF Programmed KM = any mileage you like
AIF Program # = calibration version number (you can find this using MartynT MSS54/hp binary mod tool when you pull the bin file) so mine was 211323002801JD79

Oh btw you can verify everything with INPA on the Identification page, all the values should be filled with the numbers you input on the AIF. If you screw up the # just use the next open AIF hex number/slot; you don't even need to delete the previous one, the highest number will be read first by the DME, kinda like the number of flashes left on Winfkp.

Good luck -Sam

Just to be sure, is there a 7 digit number before DA ?

Thanks!

For next person...

1. Go to INPA, and pull the BMW Part no which is the hardware # or HW Number

2. Look at this thread...http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=423771

3. Go to the hardware # and get the version string. You'll need the last 6 for AIF Program #.

4. Using the Hardware # as the Release # in the next table, figure out the Filename. There are two filenames for each release or HW #...you need the one that matches (mostly SMG vs 6MT).

5. Match the HW-NR and the SW-NR to get the ZB-NR and TYP-NR.

6. I used same handler and serial # as everyone else and it worked.
