They work better than bad actuators. I have a rebuilt one. Good alternative to a new one. I have a new one as well. The rebuilt one cost a lot less and works just as well.

Thanks for your advise but with due respect, have u personally used this full refurbished unit from uk? Or u used a half refurbished ones? What i gathered from several forums were that this guy - Jason from UK upgraded the internal and rebuild complete internals with lifetime warranty Hmm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I am using one rebuilt by Jason at rebuild.org but mine came from the US distributor: https://www.mpowermotorsports.org/
However, before that I did attempt to rebuild 4 actuators with new gears. 2 still did not work, one that was working when I changed gears worked for another year and then failed. The fourth one was still working when I removed it (I had the rebuild.org unit on a shelf and installed it because I was changing the starter motor and it was easy to do it then and I figured the one with just new gears would fail soon). Just changing gears won’t fux the problems for long. The circuit board is also a problem. I did not attempt to rebuild that, although you can buy mosfets. Some have had success and some have not when replacing mosfets. Jason probably has a way to test the circuitry. |

I think it is as good as new. And it comes with a lifetime warranty. One theory is that the gears wear and that puts more stress on the electronics and causes them to fail. If both the gears and electronics are upgraded then the rebuild should be reliable. If you do want to spend more to buy new, the VDO Continental actuator is the same one BMW sells. In the US, you can find them for $500, while the BMW logo version is about $600.
