Amusing how a car that was... mediocre when new has kind of become awesome relative to what it's competing with.
When cars just keep getting pricier, heavier, number, and forced inducted.

For a low/mid $30K-ish sporty car with a manual gearbox, itís not eye-wateringly bad. You get a new car, the warranty, and a fairly powerful 350 hp from a NA motor. On engine power alone, the 2020 Audi S5 V6 turbo makes 349 hp, and though no one will cross shop a Z with a S5, the academic price comparison is that the S5 costs around $60K after you add on some options. On first blush, I think the Z is okay for the money. In fact, itís low profile, which in many respects, is good.

The engine is NA, the steering his R&P hydraulic, the size is reasonable, the power is reasonably and useable, the transmission is manual.

... hard to believe it still exists.

Saying what began as an unexciting car ages ago has slowly become uniquely attuned to the desires of enthusiasts.

it's starting to look like Nissan made a smart decision continuing to sell proven vehicles without updating them?

no need to invest in "technology" that a lot of buyers end up being burdened with

- driver safety aids
- extra airbags
- infotainment
- direct injection/turbocharging

The Nissan Frontier is also another Dinosaur that's still for sale and sells decently enough

Seems to be the idea with most sports cars/sedans produced by the Japanese. Subaru sti, Honda s2000 when it was produced. Brz buyers having been asking for years for more power and finally got a 5-10 h.p increase lol.
