Thank you everyone for the kind words. I got my lazy a$$ up today to finish the suspension. The 550 front and 650 pound rear springs are surprisingly not harsh. The ride is firm but comfortable. Also, popped out the fender covers to let in cool air to cool the brakes.

Very nice!! I am considering upgrading my coilovers as well sometime next year. I'm debating between getting AST4200 or going balls out on some JRZ RS dampers.

What's your current ride height and alignment?

Default Re: Paul's Form Follows Function Journal - 2002 E46 M3 Carbon Black

The right height is 13.5" front and 13" rear. I will set the suspension settle until spring and then I want the car corner weighted and aligned at a race shop. For know I am running 2.0 degrees negative front and 1.75 negative rear camber.

I am still unhappy that the vorshlag camber plates robbed me of 1 degree of caster. Might look into a new set of camber plates before spring.

Thanks,
Paul

Nice little upgrade!! I hear great things about shift knob. Any plans to pick up a shift boot?

I keep looking back at those pics of your post regarding your AST 4100. It just reminds me so much of my car when I first got coilovers and it's kind of motivating me to repaint/refurbish my OEM wheels and rock those daily.

The shifter really feels good. I just ordered a new boot for the shifter. For some reason I really like the stock wheels on the M3. Thinking of keeping them for DD and getting a dedicated square setup for track.

Plan was not to spend anymore money on the car until next year but... black friday happened. Supersprint is offering 45% off of the V1 headers and Evolve R is offer 20% off of the software. So I ordered both. Will be running cat less once the headers arrive.

Also some other pieces showed up, BMW bentley and front brake caliper stiffeners.

Thanks guys. Cant wait for the headers and software to show up. Going to BMW Performance Center autocross this week. Hopefully I can figure out my GoPro cam to get some videos.

Thanks,
Paul
