Default [SOLVED] E46 M3 Right Turn Groaning

**** THIS HAS BE RESOLVED**** - Bad wheel bearings was the culprit

I've posted about this in other threads but wasn't getting anywhere so making my own.

When i turn the wheel even 1 mm right of center I get this groaning/rubbing noise. I'm running stock wheels with stock tire size, stock suspension.

I've seen all of the threads about this and the relation to diff and diff oil changes/additives.

I've changed the diff fluid and added additive, the noise is still there.

I'm 99.9% convinced the noise is coming from the front. When the wheel is turn ever so slightly right of center, i hear the noise sounding like it's coming from the front driver side, but could be anywhere up front.

My next thought was wheel bearings. If I'm turning right then the weight would be shifted to the driver side. I jacked up the front and there is no play in the front wheels (the common check for bearing wear). I pulled both wheels off and don't see anything, there's no rubbing in the wheel wells, and no scuffs on the tires.

I recorded this video to try and capture the noise. It's a little difficult to hear on laptop speakers, but otherwise it's fairly obvious.

In the video I make slight jerks left and right and every time I go right you can hear it, especially around the long right hand bend halfway through.

I'm good with replacing parts, just don't want to order $$$$'s of parts guessing.

I hate troubleshooting something I can't reproduce without driving it....

This happens only while vehicle is in motion or also stationary when turning steering wheel?

Only in motion. I put the car on jack stands tonight and removed the front wheels. No noise while it was stationary.

Also turned the wheels while on the ground and no noise.

From what I can hear, it sound very inconsistent - do you have all plastic bits, heat shields, etc under the car fastened properly?

It might sound inconsistent in the video, but it isn't. It happens every time.

I'm going to try to capture a new video today of the noise while coasting so it isn't drowned out by the motor/exhaust.
