I had an outback too. Unless you're buying an h6, prepare yourself for a head gasket drama somewhere in the 100k mile range. Awesome in the snow and Zero fcks given if it gets beat up.

Lol Not much space for a truck in a size I'd like, nor do I want to fuel one in a size I'd like. I mean I'm not a typical girl, but still, at 5'3" for daily driving a truck in a size I'd prefer to have (aka I aint wasting time and money on a pansy truck).. I'd spend more time climbing than anything LOL

What's everyone's experiences with leases? My parents have leased luxury and sport cars in the past and it always turned out to be a crappy situation by the end of it. I primarily need this car for my long road trips for work, so I really don't know if I want to be put in a box on my mileage.

I definitely want to stick with this size class, though I really like Subaru Outbacks too, just don't want to end up with maintenance issues to deal with. If I buy used, I'd prefer to stay under 30k miles or so and definitely have a warranty. I know some people purchase Hyundais for their warranty alone and I'd consider an Elantra but... something about those Korean cars..
Long roads trips I use my Navigator nothing better for logging highway miles than a couch with a heated seat. Probably a little too much SUV for a single girl so Id vote awd station wagon or small sport ute. The X3's can be had affordably and with the 3.0 straight six will run forever. I had 200k on my E53 when we upgraded to the E70.

2011 E90 M3 DCT. Love it, it really is the ultimate performance DD. But I kind of need a truck.

Once you have one you'll always have one. I love my diesel its old as dirt (99) but it is a reliable as a timex and I just don't think the motor will ever wear out.

I daily a '14 Outback 3.6R

-Flat 6
-256 AWD HP
-Regular gas
-Dino 5W30 oil

The new ones may be out of your price point, but the older ones won't be (and will be smaller as well). It is not uncommon to get 300k miles out of an engine and transmission with zero issues. The technology has basically gone untouched since the early 2000's and just recently switched to CVT (I have a standard 5 speed auto in mine).

Not what you listed, and the gas mileage is not amazing (I get around 22ish combined), but I absolutly love the car. Only thing I have done is add a big rear sway bar. I can slide the car sideways around a turn

I was daily driving a 2016 x5 M Sport but trading it in on Saturday for a 2011 Acura RDX, downgrade, I know but commuting 115 miles a day is killing the trucks value and my wallet for gas!

That head gasket drama sounds... fun.
