Default What's your daily?

My 05 M3 has been my daily for five years now, I've put 67k miles of my own on it (109k now) and it's been just having tiny issues here and there that have made me start looking at picking up a new daily driver. I've finally got the finances straight to pull in a new car, but I need some suggestions from people who are used to driving a M3, not from people who just don't get it.

However, I need this car to be boring AF and simple. Well under $15k, either new (I'd be looking at '16 model deals for the end of this year into early next year) or used with a warranty. I drive long distances for work and lately I've had to put the miles on my M or rent a car. I want something that runs on regular gas, can have normal tires and basic oil changes. I've narrowed my options down to a Civic, Corolla or Focus hatch. The only "new" that fits my price is the focus, which several friends have tried to convince me to buy. However, others have suggested I'll be miserable with the interior quality and feel. My first car was an 09 Accord, but I don't want to move up to that size class, as it isn't necessary for me.

So, my question for you M-lovers, if you drive something else daily, what is it? Anyone else have suggestions that may fit what I'm considering? Every time I ask car guys I get blasted with suggestions like a cooper S or modded out subbie... which.. no. I'm just trying to avoid car issues and get back to the basics. Any comments on the ones I've mentioned? Just wanted an opinion from people used to driving what I've been used to driving for five years now before I buy a real shitbox and hate my life. LOL

Get a Focus hatch. But the civic or corolla will end up costing you less in the long run.

I daily a 2016 Golf R, but a new mk7 Golf or GTI could fit the bill.

I daily drive a 14 camry se sport. You can find them for around 15k with 20k miles on them. Good on gas, classic toyota reliability, and pretty nice for what it is.

I don't expect to keep this car for long. Just a couple years. I've moved home to live with my parents since I was paying rent to literally work from home, so I'd like it to be something they could drive as well, if needed. I like a used golf gti, but I'm afraid of sliding back down into the german car money sucking hole. I've never considered a Ford (I usually turn my nose up at them) but the focus hatch draws me in a bit... especially a manual.

I got a Veloster turbo and love it. Can't beat the warranty on them and it very sporty.

I just got this for a tick over $20k new. They come with 250 wtq stock and tune to 300 without hassle. Manual 6-spd is the only option and 30 hwy mpg all day with plenty of room to fit even a small bookshelf. Best part? It OVERSTEERS.

Mazda3. Much better to drive than Civic, Corolla or Focus and just as cheap to own.

Regardless of what you get, buy used if you're only keeping for a couple of years, to avoid being hosed on depreciation
