Smile 99' M3 throttle body set up

Whats up guys, I have been reading this forum for a while, love it great stuff, finally joined myself. still trying to figure out how to get around it, but thats another story. i got a 99' M3, i put S50 manifolds in, Conforti cold Air intake set up, and its Shark injected. runs great, got alot of power out that, but is there anything else in need to fiddle with around there like the euro 3.5'' mf, i keep hearing mixed reaction from big bore TB on the obd2's. can anyone straighten this out for me please once and for all!! and whats with the whole ASC & FAN delete, what are you accomplishing by doing that???:

i guess this takes longer than i thought... i am definately wierd with my 99' M3, when i had my 95' M3, that was the best car. it was so easy to play with. the 99' is nice, but just diffucult. i want to put a bigger throttle body and bigger HFM, but dont know if the obd2 benifits or not,,, anyone help??

Hi,

I'm also in the process of putting a m50 manifold, 3.5"HFM, and 3.5" intake from Dinan (probably not until summer). I'm pretty sure that you will see a bigger gains with a bigger HFM.
I think 24lbs injectors and 3.5" HFM will give you a lot of gains especially at high rpms when the air fuel ratio becomes lean. I think the throttle body would give you little gain because usually an aftermarket TB is only about 7 to 10% bigger than stock. But, if you are going forced induction, then TB will help a lot.

How do you like the Shark flash? Does it improve the car's performance through out the rpm band? Very curious.

whats up bro, nice color. the shark injection and the conforti intake definately made it kick thats for sure. you will feel the diference. i put in the shark injection, confiorti intake, and s50 manifolds in at the same time you know what i mean. i did it in one shot so i didnt get a chance to test one or the other out individually, but i will tell you what, it really screams and wines out once you hit 3.5-4k rpms bro. throws you back even harder, was very happy wit the outcome!! i thought about injectors or even a pulley kit? any luck with any of those??

A big Bore Throttle Body is worth it!
Letting a larger volume of air into the engine allows for more fuel which would typically yield more horsepower.

The throttle response is also increased because of the larger vol.

The Riot Racing Big Bore Throttle body (WestCoastRiots.com) uses a unqiue machining technique to allow the air entering the throttle body to do so with less frictional losses. Their bore is the biggest for most BMW throttle Bodies

The Other big Bore Throttle Bodies use a common machining technique because it is easier and there is less initial cost. This machining technique will only allow a bore of a minimal size which would "theoretically" yield more frictional losses and a high harmonic variance in the manifold.
