Default Need help PLEASE, e92 m3 carbon fiber roof damage

Hi guys i really need some help, I recently just purchased one of my dream cars a 2013 M3 with the competition package. One owner super low miles I couldnt be happier. There was one thing that I was worried about the carbon fiber roof was wrapped with a matte carbon vinyl for some reason I figured the previous owner liked the look and wanted to protect the roof from yellowing, peeling, etc. So I removed the wrap because I want the factory gloss finish just to find a surprise underneath. It looks like the clear coat has been sanded down to the actual carbon fiber, the weave is even visible in some areas! I was told the only was to fix it is to spend $5,000 or more to get a new roof and replace it and I definitely do not want to do that are there any cheaper alternatives? Can the carbon fiber roof be saved?
