Lightbulb Just to clarify.

FYI: The AUX input cable and the CD Changer/Sirius satellite cable are completely separate. I have seen the question raised about this several times when the AUX input installation is discussed on the forums. Not sure where the rumor started but they don't have anything to do with one another. Once properly installed, the AUX input has it's own source selection on the Nav screen. Just "cycle" the sources by slowly pushing the MODE button on the Nav until you see AUX on the top of the screen. The option should show up after the CD changer and sirius. (if either are installed)

I believe you are correct. People often confuse the Aux input mod with the BMW Ipod mod. The BMW mod uses the wires coming from the Sirius harness. This is why the BMW Ipod mod and Sirius systems cannot be installed on the same car. Dension has a setup that will work with Sirius and this AUX mod will also work with Sirius.

I would get the roll-top part that replaces the cupholders and put it in there.

I wish they made a 50/50 solution. 1 Cupholder and a smaller tray... :nixweiss:

Now does the AUX input give you the ID3 tags when using an iPod?

Guess that's just one more reason to go with the Ice>Link.

With the Aux input you must control the Ipod directly. This can be a good thing because navigating with the steering wheel buttons could be difficult.
I've been hearing lots of issues with the Icelink and software so I'm shying away from it. Seems to have problems.

Aux input is just that. ANY audio device can be plugged into it, not just an Ipod. However, it won't charge the Ipod either.

Dension about $200 :nixweiss:
Aux input about $40
