Default Beeping from dash

Hi all

Lately I get a random beeping from the lower part of the dash, just to the lower left of the steering wheel as far as I can tell. It's 3 beeps in succession, it only happens once, then doesn't happen again for maybe a week. Any ideas? Some kind if sensor I don't know about?

TIA

Sent from my grow room

That function tweaking your brain is like an e36 right of passage.

It is such a useless thing for them to put on it too. Who actually needs to know when the hour rolls over while they are driving their car?

It's from the old days so you knew when the news bulletin was on.

It's actually programmable, by keeping it pressed. You can set the "x minutes before the hour" time. So setting it to :01 means it will chime 59 minutes before the hour.

Dare I say it...this is explained pretty clearly in the owner's manual. But who reads these?!

Like a stored code? Something I set accidentally?

I've had the car since 2008 and I've never heard that beeping before this summer.

Thanks guys. I'll dive into the OBC

And how does one turn it off completely?

If the memo is active, you'll see a 'wifi' symbol turned 90 degrees in the display.

So press memo again to turn off.

News bulletin eh...I guess that is reasonable.

I fixed this for you.
