Default Battery...?

Hey guys, maybe this is dumb but which battery are you all using? I've been meaning to replace my battery because it appears the pervious owner has one which is slightly too small. It's ever so loose in there with the tie down in place. I was thinking about this one:

https://www.boschautoparts.com/en/au...?partId=S4570B

Bosch Part Number: S4570B

Any alternative suggestions?

Whatever Wal-Mart has that is the correct size. It doesn't get driven daily, no high-draw components and it sits on a float charge when not in use so whatever is cheap does great.
Love your photography BTW...keep up the good work.

I got the Optima conversion kit and run those due to my seasonal use of the car. Never look back, or plan to buy another battery for the car again. I'm also all in with Optima's specific charger/batter tender too.

Interstate. I believe MTP-91 is the correct version. Be sure you get the vent tube.
If you search you'll see many threads about batteries.

You're turning your car into a auto-x HPDE car correct? Get a smaller dry cell race battery. It's what I will be buying when mine kicks the bucket.

Thanks guys. My car is already corner balanced but that will have to be redone anyway. I was looking at the Bimmerworld Optima mount, that seems like a good solution.

This-- I had a battery crap out on Day 1 of a BMW HPDE, to where I was enlisting instructors and friends to help me bump start the car before each session. I made a Walmart run for a replacement after the day ended, tested 4 of the ones they had in stock for the one that held charge, and bought it. Day 2 went great! That battery is still going strong.

I did just get an Odyssey PC680 to swap in, but I'll hold off until I get a battery tender.

Sort of still on topic...how is it that my car can have an Optima AGM battery installed, the battery performs well and I get great life from it, yet it requires a special float charging device other than the ones we've been using for years?

The car is the same and the battery performs fine...so why is the a/c powered charger required to be any different?
