This is the case for me as well. I, too, am not willing to give up a functional bumper for a mostly cosmetic mod.

I want 100% OE CSL exterior shape (can't stand the chipmunk versions), the OE tow hook hole, compatibility with OE CSL airbox ducting, compatibility with OE splitters or similar, and direct mounting to the factory carbon carrier.

If they really want a differentiated CSL bumper, carbon carrier support is the way to do it.

Shouldn't be overly difficult to do-- just make the interior upper structure using a mold of a later OE non CSL bumper.

here for me as well.. Costs added up quickly when I installed the bumper on my last 05 and I didn't like getting rid of the Kevlar support.

this is why the v1 vcsl bumper didnt have a carrier. they left it up to the consumer to either re-use there aluminum carrier and or kevlar carrier and foam support.

i wonder if streamline can just provide/make a foam support identical to the 2003.5 - 2006 oem bumpers. then all we would need to do is swap over the suction cup area and re-use the existing kevlar bar

My SG bumper, trunk, headers and both front lips have all had issues and trying to get them resolved is far from what I would expect from a company (that in your words) has great customer service.

Yup my CSL V1 is currently mounted in this fashion.

How much lighter were their fenders than OE again? I forgot.

that's crazy. Mike always answered the phone when I called and always was helpful. The parts always required some adjusting but that's expected. they weren't oem quality parts but everything fit pretty close to OEM I have to say.. Maybe I was lucky? I'm not sure.

No this was my experience as well. Mike has text me in the middle of the night before to answer stupid questions. I've had headers, two CSL bumpers, a 1 piece lip, and a SCZA trunk all from them. All this hate for them lately is strange, have some of you people never bought aftermarket parts? They aren't OEM. Hell supersprint has fitment issues and we never talk about that. Sorry to go off subject OP but I find this forum strange sometimes, Vorsteiner used to be holy grail and if Status Gruppe isn't considering a premium part then Vorsteiner is subpar trash. Let's all just import CSLs

weights on the bumpers, specifically frp versus carbon please?

The weight savings on a wet layup composite part is usually pretty small between frp and carbon, and i've only seen a few groups that are willing to sink the cost of pre-preg dry carbon tool on factory replica parts.

this is the key question.. I've modded many cars and I know what to expect from a good company and a bad company.
