You're probably right. The seller called them "6000K HID Low Beams".

Me too. I really like so many attributes of the sedan, but the coupe is more universally known as a sports car.

Many thanks to haus and MMMGP for the consultation during the purchase. It was up and down there for a couple days.
Marty suggested right-away that I look up her skirt to see if there was anything interesting. Well, I found something.

1 Cracked tranny brace? I've never seen that before. Ordered for $26.
2 Some surface rust was bugging me on the fuel filter cover so I primed and painted it.
3 "No leaks", the seller said. I lowered my offer a bit to fix this mess.

Ha! You should see the bottom of my sedan.... huge mess. But at least the diff isn't leaking

The BG looks realy purdy. I had one, once, for short while. I was so beautiful, sometimes, but others it just looked "green." I do miss it, though, as it was probably the "nicest" 36M I ever had.

Whoa. How does that happen?!

How do the motor mounts look? Could a torn or separated passenger side MM eventually lead to a cracked trans mount?

I don't know how that happens but I'll keep looking for other signs. It drove fine before I started the work.

It's been so windy in the evenings that I can't get much done lately. I replaced the fuel filter last night, however. Then I moved into the garage. The door panels needed to come off because of a rattle and I needed to expose the door dings from the inside. Ironically, the door panels were fine until I pulled them off, at which time they fell apart. I'm still a big fan of the Automotive version of GOOP. It dries overnight and holds as well as anything does to press-board. I like using a clean brick and spring clamps to hold it snug for the first 8 hours. No airbags on the 95-96 cars!! Less to break. Less to save my A** in an accident too.

Then I bought some "DAP Fast Dry Acrylic Latex Cault Plus Silicon" White. Paintable. $2.88 at Home Depot. 1 tube for 2 muffler hangers.
I want to try this BFc forum trick. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...xhaust+hangers

I know. You're the norm. Boston Green rates pretty low on the popularity contest. I wanted Green on Black, but these aren't the "picky" years anymore. If I wanted to be picky, I'd buy a 46M.

I like to take off the alternator and blow it out. There's always a good rats-nest of debris where the duct funnels in the air. The duct hose was all cracked to bits too. A new duct is coming from TBPS. This BOSCH 80amp looks pretty good for 150k miles. I'll squirt little oil under that rubber seal to keep it quiet and put it all back together.

So true about being "picky".... not happening these days with an E36 M3 - you take what you can get.

That said, I think Boston/Dove is a WAY better combo than Boston/Black. The latter looks dull and dirty. But I'm a huge Dove fan - it's the absolute most pimpin' interior color ever.... it just looks like poo once dirty/worn.

My dream is to fully restore/recover an Estoril/Dove car to factory new appearance inside and out, M-stripes and all.

TwentySeven - you sellin' yet??

Wow. I'm surprised to find a Dove fan here. I've never really liked it. I like that it doesn't get hot in the sun, but that's about it. I keep it Grey so it matches the VIN and Build Sheet under the back seat.

Also, I was watching that Black M3/4/5 in Sacramento that you bought. I'm glad you got it. Very cool car. I like what you are doing with it.
