Scott, thanks for your post and this info. Sounds like I need to send my mirror to you, it recently "failed". No leaks but it has a blob of tinted area in the center and the area surrounding that is untinted mirror night or day. I can't understand how this happened, as my car is literally garaged day and night in N. California, very mild temps and in my case almost no hot sun exposure??? Seems like their product is total crap, to fail in such "ideal" conditions. And its a 2006, so only 5+ years old. I read about this issue for years but never thought it would happen in my case.

Unfortunately it seems like all of them will fail eventually, even if the car is in ideal conditions like you described. I bought my car 2004 and also garaged it, never parked in the sun. The mirror lasted 3 years until I had some paint work done, the body shop left my car parked outside for about a month in 100 degree temps and sure enough as soon as I picked up the car the mirror was history.

This is great news. Welcome to the forums as Sponsor Vendor!

I will definitely be doing this very soon. I am just going to try and coordinate while my car gets it's upcoming Inspection II and Valve Adjustment.

Thanks for offering us great pricing and information.

Scott,

First, thanks for the great writeup and pics

My ///M originally came with the square SOS BMW assist mirror. I have since replaced this mirror with the oval mirror. If my retrofitted oval mirror fails will there be a problem sending it in for repairs?

THANKS for SPONSORING Scott... I sent mine in a few months ago and it's still working great. We had a little issue (nobody's fault) but Scott with great customer service worked with me to resolve it immediately.

No it's not a problem, we can repair both mirrors.
