A year ago, I might have, before I had read up on the subject. People have discovered a lot of interesting, practical things about vision and the eye since WWII.

i love the mood lighting, but i just don't like the way that the main light looks. It's too shiny...or something like that. But nice work

If you mean Brett's, his work looks great, but the mood lights make me wonder: is this a U-Boot or a bordello? (No, seriously. Not quite, but pretty close.)

If you meant mine, thanks and the shine might have been the camera flash. Here is another (the other) using only daylight.

Yes and then I later undid all that garbage. Don’t do it. Just stick with stock E36.

I intrgrated the E39 moodlight assembly into the stock domelight back in 2007.

It nicely lights up the center console and now in the M3 it gives a nice flow reflection on the SMG shifter and surround.

It's subtle not to notice it, until you block them with your hands.

Hooked up to the dimmer so they dimm with rest of lights.

And from 10 years ago:

I had to totally customze the light to make it all fit.

Keep in mind the vert domelight is a totally different shape. IIRC the complete E39 domelight fits straigh into the coupe and has the same style design as the e36.
