Default E92 M3 Purchase Advice

Hello everyone, it's been a while since my last post but I have been ready to get into an E92. Found an immaculate 2008 with 8k miles and has premium package and technology package. Maintainance records look good but I have a couple concerns and don't know if they should concern me too much but want to ask you all. The pre inspection came back great with no issues. But the maintance records show the battery was dead almost every 2 years. Also oil changes were done about every year and half to 2 years in some cases. Single owner, and only 500 miles driven on it in the last 3 years. The thing I do like is all the maintance records says customer brought in for this and that and a lot of it was very small things which shows me the care for the car. What do you all think is a reasonable value for it as KBB has it at around 35k. Just a little concerned with an M3 being parked that long as well. Any input would really be appreciated.

Sure wish we had an E92 secshun. That being said - 2 years between oil changes? I got a "great deal" on an E46 one time that had infrequent oil changes. I couldn't even do a valve adjustment because of the siezed top end internals. No thanks.

While this may be a better question for the E92 section, spotty service records on a german luxury car are typically a gamble not worth taking. With the abundance of E92s available, spend a little more and get a car that you will enjoy. Often, saving a few bucks on the initial purchase isn't worth the money to fix the future issues.

I would not worry about the batteries. That was from it being not driven. I would buy it if the price was right. M3post is the place to go for E9xM3.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy it either. Oil changes being done every two years correlates to every two thousand miles... how many other cars got that kind of treatment?

Don't let the low mileage dissuade you. Not driving cars is the best way to keep them in tip top condition...

Like the other poster said, M3post.com is where you will find all of your answers about E9x M3s.

I own an E92 that is a garage queen. I put about 3k miles on it a year so I get an oil change one every 2 years. The BMW oil change intervals at every 15k miles but I don't suggest waiting that long if you daily drive or track the car. As for the battery, if the car was not driven for very ofter and not attached on a battery tender, the car's battery will fail. good luck if you move forward with the purchase.
