Just moved back to the bay and joining this thread! M3 won't be ready for a little bit though because it's time to do the subframe reinforcement, some other refresh stuff, and vanos/rod bearings

Hi everyone, just joined this forum, I just got a clean low miles 2003 M3. Looking forward to meeting other fellow M owners in the Bay in the future! In the mean time, does anyone have a favorite / go to shops for general mechanical maintenance and upgrades (in the South Bay)? Want to take my car to get a few things checked out. Also some recommendation on good bodyshop that can do paintless dent removal (there are two very minor spots that I want to get taken care off before take it in for full paint correction). Thanks!

Welcome!

If you want a shop, I recommend Trackspec for mechanical and TC for any welding. Havenít dealt with trackspec personally, but I know lot of guys go to them and have a good reputation. Not much to say about TC, probably one of the best race/welding shop in the west coast.

Another option I recommend is DanAvoN7. He does quality work at fractions of what shops charge. Probably one of the best service Iíve ever received. As far as body shop goes, I use Tonyís Collision Center near Howard and 12th in SF. Theyíre pretty good and the owner is a pretty attention to detail kind of guy. He did my E92 as well as Jetta.

Welcome! Always glad to see new local members on here.

Trackspec has been my go-to shop for the last 4 years and they never disappoint. They've handled regular maintenance and track prep for all of my cars and their work is always top-notch. We're currently finishing up a Spec E46 race car as well and Jon and team handled fab and install of a NASA-certified full-cage with fire system, etc.

Thanks! Yep heard of TC, they're very well known and I have a buddy with a new F80 M3 that he plans to track with. Dan reached out to me and I'm talking to him now. Hope to meet the local members at a car an coffee event in the near future!

I don't do much cars and coffee, but I'm always down for a drive or a track day if I can find the time. Hopefully I'll see you on track soon, I need more track friends

Will be going to Canepa Cars and Coffee this Saturday (October 13th) and possibly headed up to Alices after for lunch. Anyone else gonna be up in the mountains?
