Default SAP Delete

Hey guys, just got my block off plate and gasket for a SAP delete, tried searching but can't find any DIY threads, anyone have a link or a video, or even just some tips? I'm sure I could figure it out but I like prepping. lol

Thanks

It's very easy. I was able to clear the SES with a $10 iPhone app and a wifi obd2 adapter. If you still have the US headers/cats, you might as well delete them as I am willing to bet that the sap delete will negatively affect your cats longevity.

^ Share more on that SES iphone/obd2 trick??
Also, do you think the SAP-delete will affect the longevity of cats in section 1?
I am thinking of adding the Euro hardware and I too have the Dinan exhaust. Any sound clips of your setup?

No problem, got it done, hardest part was lining up plate and gasket holes to get the 2nd bolt in. Also I have an actual scan tool so resetting code presented no issue.

Also I was just looking at picking up some ebay headers, saw a post somewhere, two guys got JVT (ebay) headers and did before and after dynos and pulled something like 24 horse, so will be doing that next.

^ Search about the headers a bit more. That style provides similar gains regardless of make, yet JVT may have questionable fitment. If looking for value, SGT is probably the best bet.

What happens come emissions test time with your code resetting?

Yeah, I certainly plan to before buying anything, I had only seen the one thread and the guy seemed happy with fitment, but even with a quick search it looks like "JVT" made ones are no longer being made, could just be a company name change.

Also, in Ohio so don't care about emissions test, we don't have any.

Wow that is amazing. Not quite the same in California... Post a video when you're done with everything.

Here's a thread on the DME aspect of making sure it falls in line, for those who want to DIY properly.

I've done this on dozens of cars with success, along with the physical removal on a handful. The block off plate and gasket are in that thread as well. It's a cinch to perform as long as the car is cool. A ratcheting wrench will be your friend, but isn't wholly necessary. A 1/4" drive ratchet with a swivel bit, or even a swivel socket also works wonders.
