Default Hello M3Forum, Recommendations?

Hello all.

I recently acquired toothfixer's Boston/Dove M3/4/5 on BaT and couldn't be happier. I had been searching for a well kept lower mileage Boston example for some time now and this one is just about perfect. He was a great seller and has excellent taste in vehicles (gorgeous 964 sitting next to this M3 in his garage).

Hope to see some of you all around the South Bay (San Jose, CA) and if anyone has a good recommendation for a shop around here (Indy or otherwise) I would appreciate it. Sounds like the wheel bearings are shot and that's not a job I'm up to DIY. Don't mind driving a little bit, but closer is better. TIA

Cheers

Congratulations and welcome to the e36 club.

When I lived in SJ, I visited Bay Area Motorworks in Campbell for the seldom project I couldn't handle myself.

The Golden Gate Chapter of the BMWCCA has a good inventory of local independents that offer CCA member discounts on parts and labor. Check out their latest newsletter (page 22). - https://gallery.mailchimp.com/96520a...nal_web.01.pdf

You may also have better luck posting the Indy shop recommendations in the Pacific Region section of the forum.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! The car was/is as BaT represented it and the seller and I had a laugh about lurking around on BaT forever but never actually making a transaction. Turned out to be a great experience I would recommend to anyone, although I recommend being home when the auction is ending. I happened to be sitting in a diner on my iPhone that had spotty cell service...was nervous to say the least.

Anyway its good to be here and I will do my best to utilize that search feature

Agreed on the wheel bearings - a pain
