Default BMW Indi Shop for CPV replacement (Houston TX)

Hi Guys, I know that replacement of the CPV is an old DYI, just wanted to check if anyone knows a shop in the Houston area that would do it for a decent price say less than 400 $

Hell Id do it for $400

Ive only used Bimmer Performance as theyre 5 min from my office, but that was just for tracking a vac leak. Super nice guys though and I thought very reasonable $

For a mechanic with a lift and a drag link socket, this is a 20 min job at the most. Should be an hour labor charge, if not less.

Thanks for the info, I've found a shop willing to do it for 160 including parts. I'll post the name after the work is done.

I've done valve adjustment, fan clutch, belts, chain tensioner, vanos rebuild, brakes, inlet/exhaust camshaft sensors myself. But this one doesn't seem to be fun specially working underneath without a proper lift and the space available to work tool in and out.

I'd do it for $100. It's a 20-minute job, no lift required.

I did it myself, but it's a PITA, I didn't have the draglink socket which I guess helps by attacking the CPV (getting it loose is the problem) between the exhaust and engine block with a long wrench, instead of going on the right exhaust-heatshield.

I had the Pittsburgh 1/2 inch stubby bit socket and different extensions. I've put the rogue engineering o-ring on the new CPV which is supposed to last longer than the OEM, fingers crossed.

Also found a brake fluid leak from the passenger side brake line which was getting me confuse on what I was finding on the garage floor.

Make sure you get the upgraded CPV o-ring from M3F member mpower22.

Yep. Don't replace the CPV (which includes the same failure prone o-ring)-- replace the o-ring for $5 on your existing CPV, and never deal with it again, instead.
