I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but they're pretty much perpetually 20% off. Basically the department store model.

My order from ECS arrived today. Pretty quick given the fact the original delivery was supposed to be on the 7th. The way it was packaged and shipped was beyond disappointing however..

So do many people here, at least me and my buddy for sure :-) So I honestly think they will make more profit with 50% off than with "meh that 20% off" :-)

Just got the scanne and the extractor! For a black stone analysis when/how would you take the sample? I know under the car you do it mid stream but with the extractor how would it work?

The best way to take sample is via drain plug with hot oil. This is what Blackstone recommends.

When I have used my Mityvac extractor it has a feature to reverse the flow so it turns into a pump. If you reverse the flow with the tube full of oil then it should yield a decent sample without mixing in oil that may be left in the container from previous oil changes.

It would be an interesting project to rig up an oil catch can of sorts to go inline between the extractor and dipstick tube to collect oil as it's being extracted.

I ended up purchasing three set of Seasonal Tire Tote (Set of 4) for $25 each. One for myself and others for gifts. Now priced at $44.95.
