What's the build date on your car? Mine's a pretty late build and has 16mm front and rear.

Looks like these are the two parts. Threaded portion seems to be the same regardless, but my bolts are definitely more like the former

I have a 2006/04 and I have 18mm. I had 5x 2002 E46 M3 in the past and they all had 16mm front carrier bolts.

Yep exactly. Was going to post same thing, as oemparts shows 2 #s. Both removed are silver in color.

Just a heads up for guys doing carrier work . 01/06 build date.
