Have a look at the xtrons wire colours and see where which pins they go to/from. See if they match the colours/pins of the extension harness.

Colors match on the destination side. Source side is different of course. So in theory take the original harness cut off the 17 pin and splice with same colors on eonon harness at the source side

Just got to be careful and make sure the canbus wires are all good as well as it's now in the boot which may or may not make any difference. I'm trying to work out whether it's worth getting the xtrons harness or not. If you splice and it works, let me know and I'll do the same when I get mine.

I think I'll keep the can bus on the original harness I cut off. I plan on just severing the 17 pin side so 14 wires then match them to new harnesses

On second thought the canbus in the back can make a difference. There are 2 green wires on the trunk side. One if which goes to the canbus, but one of the greens doesn't go all the way to the front because the canbus is located in the back so I can't splice that. I may just get the xtrons one after all.

Hmmm bloody annoying. Sorry if I lead you down the garden path. Someone else mentioned that harness here and I didn't see the plug that went in to the HU! I may as well do the same then.

I've just pulled apart my 17 pin xtrons harness. I think I misunderstood you. I think the reason why the eonon harness has less pins in the plug is because the canbus is in the boot. Have you tried using the eonon harness anyway and see what happens?

You can use it right away cause the 20 pin layout doesn't match the original harness
