Interested in the ST40 PF01s but how thick? Those look like their about 8-10mm left in the pic.

I have 8 sets of PFC01 ST40 and two of PFC08. The PFC08 are thicker and newer. Here are the measurements of the sets - the backing plate is about 5mm thick so subtract that for pad thickness. I don't know what "new" thickness is but I think somewhere around 12-13mm?

All measurements below in mm:

Set 1: 15.34/15.20
Set 2: 14.08/14.18
Set 3: 12.48/13.17
Set 4: 11.98/12.33
Set 5: 15.51/14.26
Set 6: 14.45/14.14
Set 7: 13.26/13.35
Set 8: 13.57/13.15

what are the titanium backing plates for? Does this help quiet down the squealing?

No, it's to help keep heat in the pads and not allow it to penetrate into the caliper, seals, and pistons. Acts as an insulator. Works really well actually. I noticed pad life seemed to have gone up after I started using them.

Those are a no brainer money and pad saver.
