I would buy a e46 m3 sedan in a heartbeat, they're just so perfect. I'm so glad you're doing one. Keep up the pictures! btw that is one oily engine!

Are you going to do the "m3" widebody front/rear fenders or keep it stealth?

I'd like to do the M3 body, but for now I'm going to keep it stock until I get up the gumption to hack away at the bodywork.

Back to the updates! I'm a little behind.

The plan to get the engine out was to disconnect all the hoses, lines, and harnesses, but keep the front suspension attached to the engine mounts, set up some jack stands to cradle everything, and then lift the body off the engine.

And it worked without a hitch. Easiest engine removal ever.

Next I worked on removing all the accessories from the block. Everything on this car needs a deep clean. A huge pet peeve of mine is when people take a dirty part off a car and don't bother to clean it before they put it back on. I like my cars clean - inside and out. I loaded some totes full of parts and took them to the wash bay at my work.

Before

and after...

Much better.

Noooooooo. It finished already

I was hoping to see some shiny parts.

Please rebuild every component that is rebuildable (i.e., AC Compressors, alternator, injectors, starter and replace every sensor that can ever mess up.).

In for project progress! Any chance you're selling those black m3 fender grills?

The drivers side grille is broken. Not sure you would want just the passenger side, but if so, I'd let it go for super cheap.

Awesome project!

I'm sure you've seen this already, but I'm very impressed with how neatly this guy solved the front fender challenge. And the whole front for that matter.
