If you don't already have a set of the HB socket adapters I would buy them to do this. You also need a 32mm socket. Photos in the first post showing this.

Harbor freight was the only place I found the right-sized 32 mm socket to fit in that confined space.

Hey Wolf, is there any DIY on a VANOS test to run after installing and resetting timing after this procedure? I know the DME will reset the VANOS after startup, but a DIY on resetting adaptations would be great as well to get it started off on the right foot at the beginning. I've done a bunch of searches, but have only come up with folks discussing their DIS results. I really don't know much about DIS or how to run the test, but I think it would be a valuable tool to check VANOS after installation and to reset adaptations.
