Wich procedure should be done first… Vanos or valve adjustment? I plan on doing them at the same time. Does it matter?

Not sure if it matters but I did my Vanos first then the Valve adjustment. Do the Intake side first then the Exhaust side.

Here is a blank forum you can print up to keep track of the valve adjustments.

Just did all this today.. Little worried about the timing. I am pretty sure I did everything correctly. How much drag is there suppose to be when you rotate the crank? It seems free to rotate and then gets to where it seems like it's going over a hump and then is easy to move. I have rotated the engine several times and timing seems to be ok.

There is some resistance as it comes around to TDC. I cranked the engine by hand a few times and rechecked the timing. I was so OCD I did this several times to make sure the timing was ok before starting the engine.

This is more then just Tdc resistance. It seems like as it starts to depress a valve that there is added resistance.

There's some resistance but you shouldn't have to really crank on if you understand what I'm saying.

Read this thread- http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=551993
