in regards to the previous two posts, does this affect the car in any negative way mechanically and should the fcab's be replaced or is it just the "clunk" we have to deal with?

The clunk is typically indicative of more than just an annoying sound. It means that the FCAB is not seated properly, which in turn means that your turn-in will suffer.

But really the symptoms associated with each particular clunking may vary. My clunking with the GC FCABs got so loud over time that I actually felt how sloppy and uneven the steering had become. When I started to replace/unmount the defective FCAB, it almost slid off the lower control arm with little to no force, which is a red flag right there. Again, a properly seated FCAB should be very snug and nearly impossible to take off with bare arms.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I seem to be having the same problem as well. I have the delrin FCABs from bimmerworld.

Just wanted to say how much I dislike poly FCABs. That's all.
