Default Car feels slower after replacing fuel filter

Hey guys,

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this or has any input. I ordered the inspection 2 kit through ecs and didn't realize all parts weren't OEM, for example the fuel filter.

Now when I compared the filters side by side, I noticed the hole on the OE filter that threads into the FPR was about 1/3 the size of the OEM filter.

Could this be causing my car to feel slower/have a lack of power? There's no CEL and feels completely normal otherwise. And it's not in my head because my mechanic and my Dad also drove the car and said it feels slower than it used to.

Thanks for any helpful input.

What filter was supplied? (I'm seeing Kayser listed by ECS)
Nothing else was changed, and you're sure the filter brought about the issue?
FPR vacuum line hooked up?

Nothing else was changed. I believe it was the Kayser brand. It runs and drives perfect as normal, just feels like there's a lack of power. FPR vacuum line wasn't disconnected to change the filter. I'm thinking the smaller hole isn't allowing enough fuel into the FPR?

Did you replace with OEM or OE? Mine also feels to be going away now too but I haven't really been beating on it because im scared it's not getting enough fuel.

I have already ordered a new OEM filter so I'm just gonna throw that on just to be safe. Live and learn I guess

Kayser is original equipment. Mahle is OEM, but it has never given me problems and Mahle is trustworthy with the oil and air filters.

Neither fuel filter is going to cause you to lose power. It's A) in your head B) coincidence or C) you did something to your car to retard it

Learn meaning I learned not to buy an OE fuel filter.

There was definitely an issue with the Kayser filter as I swapped in the new OEM genuine BMW yesterday and the issue went away. By the way, two other people drove the car who have driven it prior to putting the Kayser filter in and they even noticed there was a huge lack of power before me even saying anything.

Maybe it was in all three of our heads? Idk either way it's fixed now with an OEM filter.

Thanks. Got a genuine BMW through ECS and the end that threads into the FPR was just like the original one on my car, having a larger hole. No lack of power whatsoever after the swap.

But Kayser makes the genuine BMW one... I'm willing to bet you bought or were sent a fuel filter for a different car. I know you don't care now cause your car is ok, and that's a good thing, but for anyone that reads this thread in the future, there's nothing wrong with the OE Kayser or OEM Mahle.
