What's your problem? Yours is the first half decent looking vinyl recover and you're on my ass like people have been doing this correctly for years now. That hasn't happened. Even yours isn't perfect, a tad glossy and looks to have seams where OE is vacuum form fit as one piece. I would not want this... but again, it's the first half decent attempt I've seen. The only person to have an OE grade recover done was Jim E. and they were done to an exact match of OE extended leather (not vinyl). His were near $3k for that work. OE vinyl panels are $5xx brand new.

I still suggest OE panels while you can buy them, especially on a unique car such as yours Connor.

Yes, mine has seams at the pocket. I think the gloss is from my Meguiars interior wipes because the vinyl looks just like the original. All in all, I am in $1300 for all 4 x panels recovered, and I cant complain.

I am not on your ass, but when you come out and tell members that legitimate options shouldnt be even be considered, then you actually insult those of us that have weighed all options, have selected one way, and are now making a suggestion based on personal experience.

I will say, it took me a while to find a decent shop to do it because no one wanted to touch the vacuumed form fit panels as you mentioned....

Has anyone tried to use a vacuum pack machine to form them? I have access at one of my meat suppliers that I could potentially use.
Pull inserts out, lay down cloth with glue and vac pac in a large bag?

Had the same idea and would like to test it someday.

Just goto realoem, they come blank so you have to drill your own speaker holes.

I've been slowly working on a spare set of door panels for quite a while now and they're almost ready for reupholstery. It's been a lot of work to sand them smooth as any imperfections under the vinyl/leather will show through. The map pockets are going to be the toughest part to do without seams, so I've been weighing my options on what I can do, maybe a tasteful cross stitch if it comes down to it. I have access to a vacuum bag setup, so if I can go that route I'd like to.

I'm at a crossroad on what to do with the insert piece. I'm 50% on doing a BMW M fabric, something different than Rain/Hurricane or 50% doing a proper carbon fiber overlay. Just have to make up my mind on the next direction of the car. Once I do make the next step I'll try and remember to update here.

After posting that I realize that didn't help you at all, Connor.

Any competent auto upholstery shop should be able to slightly peel back the already peeling vinyl, apply fresh glue and re-adhere the parts that are barely lifting.

The cloth centers, not so sure, as peeling the cloth off of those pieces will likely ruin the fabric.
