Default Travelling to Midwest for Holidays (MD, PA, W. Va portion)

I am going to Rock Island, Ill for Thanksgiving possibly and would like info on speed traps or where to be more vigilant. I know don't speed and I won't have to worry about tix.
My route as it applies to this regional forum:
MD: 270 to 70 to 68 into W. Va
W. Va: 68 to 79 into PA
PA: 79 to 70 into back into W. Va to OH (I could also take 70 out of MD to PA Turnpike @ Breezewood. Take PA TP to W. Va then OH.

For the curious the rest of the trip will take me through Columbus to Indianapolis on 70. Then on 74 in Indiana and Illinois to 80.

If you think taking through PA 76 to 80 all the way across is better, let me know. I did both on google maps and the time diff is minimal. The only diff is $25 in tolls.

What an incredible waste of an 335... Super slabbing the entire way?

Just a quick check of my Street atlas says 825 miles from the beltway to Rock Island. and about 14 hrs. Are you going to do this in one shot?

If you are going to take 2 days, At least get some good roads on the way out... Once you get into Ohio, there are no good roads...lol

If it were me, (but I like back roads) I head out of DC, go to Sperryville and over 211, then get on VA33 to Elkins. Then get on 250 and go to Moundsville. From there you can jump on 70 and slab away. At least you will have some fun..

No matter how you slice it, cops are going to be an issue. Ohio, holiday travel, cops, It won't be pretty... And a V1, along with be vigilant are you best defences...

I think I get ur confusion. I don't consider MD the mid-west. This thread is for the people living in this region hence the MD, PA, WV portion tag I put up. For the portion taking me through OH, IN, IL that is in the respective region forum for those States.
Hopt that clears it up for you.

I may take that route under consideration.

About the only problem with Va211 is that they have lowered the speed limit once again. In an effort to keep the stupidest of us bikers alive, (there has been a rash of deaths due to trying to ride way above their abilities at 3x the posted limit) the Va DOT lowers the speed limit, and really punishes everybody but the guys the don't care about the speed limit in the first place...

It's a really wonderful road. Technical hairpins, sweepers, up and down a mountain. Such a shame...
