they do not machine your bellhousing which is the cheaper route.
Between paying a machine shop, shipping back and forth and possibly running into any issues - it is hardly any cheaper. Besides, you can pop the SMG box on eBay for $250 and you'll end up at the same number. Words "cheap" and "swap/conversion" shouldn't be in the same sentence.

If your current transmission is known to be good and you know the history , you should get your BH machined. If you buy a used 6MT trans, who knows what history it has..

Sorry to bump an old tread. I'm new here, I just purchased an E46 with SMG and was considering a swap if I could find a reliable local source.

Looks like the OP never came back to update us on where he went, and if it was a success or not. Looks like Spec Motorsports is gone at least according to Google, Clown Shoe is still around. I'll start there. I have too many race car projects to do this myself for my DD.

Any other shops in DFW perform this service?
