No I believe the metal piece is molded into the rubber. I dont think it can be removed.

And wow way to bring back an old thread of mine!

no, that's still the same part i posted earlier, just little cheaper.
the metal part is the mount part of the hanger that slides over this part.

they are exchangable separately and are same exact part fo e36 and e46.

Sorry, I didn't see your post.

Here is a story: long back one of my hangers broke so I brought it to the dealership for a quote. They said I should replace all of the hangers which sounds ok to me. They wanted $70 each and $120 labor. Total quote was about $240.

I purchased the parts and DIY in about 20 min. Cost about $45.

here's the OP's hanger picture

compared to pelican hanger

that's the metal part I'm talking about, the pelican parts dont have that metal in the middle....

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...47&hg=18&fg=20

part # 10 can be separated from the hanger, but the metal in the middle of the hanger, I doubt if that can be remove....

The pelican parts ones are different.

It's often the case that OE is different than OEM. This is one of those cases.

Did the hanger with the washer last longer, OP?
