Default Trying to Install CSL bumper - Shocks too long

Hey guys, having a small issue. Antony (from Streamline) is helping me resolve it, but would like to ask on here as well. This is one of the new Streamline CSL bumpers. It seems my e46 bumper shocks are sticking out too far at least 1/2". Whenever I install the ASA bolts, I have to have the bumper pulled away from the car 1/2" - 1" for them to thread. At that point, the bumper is so far forward compared to the fenders. Does anyone know why this would happen or know of a way to fix it?

My last resort will be to drill the shocks, push them in to the desired length and then drill a set screw.

Antony has had no complaints about this so I am putting no blame on him. Just not sure WTH is happening. I line up the bumper perfectly and then have to pull it away from the car to thread the ASA bolts - both sides.

Thanks for any help.

If you find it needs cut and welded or any other custom stuff, you’re welcome to drive down. I have tig, mig and a gasless wirefeed welder as well.

Plenty of room for another M

Edit - are those the same as non M supports? Pretty sure I read a while ago, non M shocks are needed.

Thanks for the offer. Right now, the car is totally torn apart for this install. I can drill them and tap them with a screw, but I just want to know why the hell this needs done? You are correct, you have to use factory e46 (non ///M) shocks which I did.

Bumper is probably designed to go with later carbon fibre bumper carrier. The alum bumper carrier was only for 2001? That is why things aren't working so you will have to modify like you are doing.

IIRC the streamline CSL bumper has a carrier built in it, kinda like a VCSL V2.

Could be hardware G.
