Default S54 standalone options

Hey everyone. So I'm interested in putting an S54 into a Datsun 260z and I want to know what my options may be for running this thing on a standalone DME. It will have a manual transmission so no SMG integration is needed.

Ideally I'd like to just have an alpha-N tuned MSS54 running everything but I don't know if that's possible or if I need to go to something like an AEM infinity. I already have the factory BMW engine harness that I want to use also.

Let meet know your experience or suggestions.

Thanks!

You know that you can have the factory dme reprogrammed and use in in your transplant car. Thatís what we do on every motor conversion. The hardest part will be putting in the drive by wire gas pedal. They can program out any emissions and ews etc. anything factory youíre not running. That would be the best and cheapest way to do it. You can do alpha-n on any s54 dme. You just program the alpha n add a map sensor and temp sensor and your ready to go.
Hope this helps.

Turner Motorsport has that Bosch unit that you can use with the stock harness but it deletes cruise control etc but I think you can also transfer to a standard non-DBW throttle with it...

Hmmm, a S54 in a Z, sounds cool... Why not just buy a late MY M Cabrio/Coupe with a S54 in it? On a related matter, I got an e-ticket ride in a S52 M Cabrio fitted with all the Dinan goodies and let me tell you, boy howdy, I've never ridden in a sled that launched as hard as that little sled, outside of a rod fitted with a 383 topped with flowed heads, high lift bump stick, 4.11s and Mickey Thompson cheater slicks.

Not an E46 M3 but Pro EFI is what a good friend of mine used for his boosted KA20 240SX which he also converted to throttle by wire. No complaints.

Super easy to run the OE MSS54 as a standalone these days, and MUCH cheaper than any standalone. That's 100% the route I'd go.
