In general no, but you haven't given nearly enough detail.
  1. What S mode are you in?
  2. Every single time you shift regardless of driving style? Low Speed, high speed, WOT, or pushing the car semi-hard no difference?
  3. How long is the delay?
  4. Stock SMG tune?

shifting from 1-6 there a delay. not a long delay but you can feel it.
and yes regardless on what speed
delay is not long but you can feel the delay
and yes stock smg tune

told my dealership about this and they said it is normal..i guess maybe thats why others use throttle controller..but i can be wrong...but when i shift up, doesnt shift right a way.

Have you checked for any codes relating to the SMG? What you are describing really does sound "normal" for the stock SMG tune after all there is a delay in shifting manually via the user.

I would try clearing adaptations as well. There is a huge difference between the stock tune and the CSL version available via MartynT's tool and then add on the 255 tune and the diff is even larger.

Is your delay similar to the time it takes an average person to push the clutch in, change the gear, and release the clutch (~1 second), or more like 2-3 seconds?

Yep sounds normal as stated. I have all the info in my Build Thread if you want to upgrade the SMG shifting. Stock SMG shifting sucks compared to modified.

Also take a look at this thread. Are you symptoms like these?

SMG owners, can you feel the SMG pump slipping the clutch?

Pretty much any and all SMG issues have been discussed here in the past.

Those suggesting software, I think you're not really helping.

OP, have you looked at your SMG Detent springs?

I would try software before I do everything required to drop/tilt the trans to check those springs LoL and besides what he describes does sound like stock tune. Before I moved away from the stock tune I definitely felt the delay more.

My overall impression, which could certainly be wrong, is that broken detent/compression springs cause a relatively severe lag.

You’re kidding right? Software flash over detent springs. I would rather do software flashing for a week straight over doing the detent springs.

I’m speaking from what helped my delayed shifting. Stock SMG shifting sucks!

If you have broken detent springs doesn’t it have issue shifting into gear (not lag or clutch slur) and throw a code?
