Default What car did you learn to drive manual on?

Just taught my girlfriend how to drive manual the other night. Choice was between using the Z4M or the older Carrera I've been working on. Carerra seemed to fit her better (she could reach the clutch better etc).

Anyway - I commented to her that a lot of dudes would be jelly to learn on such a car. She did great - even drove us home... which on that car shifting gears is a lot more challenging than any modern standard (its like hunting for gears with the shifter). Made me think of the junk VW dune buggie I learned on when I was in my teens.

Sooo....What did everyone learn to drive manual on?

Exceptions: DCT, PDK, SMG are not manual cars.

Cheers

Tried it on a Maruti when I was visiting Sri Lanka at the age of 14, but really got the hang of it on my friend's Mazda 323 hatchback a year later
