Default Oil level

So we're driving through Ohio today and I scan through the computer level readings and suddenly the oil level shows overfill condition. It's odd since the level has been constant since the oil change a month ago. I keep driving and at next rest area turn off car for a few minutes. Start up still reading too full (slightly) vehicle info display indicates overfill as well. 20 miles or so later indicator is back to proper level and warning is gone from vehicle status. Any ideas guys? It's due to visit the dealer for maintenance. I'm guessing a sensor that was being goofy... I hate not having a dipstick!!!

Thanks, Jim '12 E93 with 16K

Wierd. Just as a guess, maybe one of the oil galleries, or part of the oil sensor subsystem, got a bit clogged temporarily?

Several hundred miles later oil level is stable and no further issues. Thanks for the replies!
