Default ***************newbie help

I just sold my manual R8 spyder, I was looking through all the cars that are fast and offered in a manual convertible. Not many choices but I have decided to purchase a M3 manual/convertible. I know nothing about beamers I've only had audi, porsche and range rover but I am excited to join the club.

-Is an M3 a good daily driver?
-Does anyone have major problems from the convertible?
-What should I ask/look for when I purchase my M3 from a private seller?

-What are the best upgrades for it? (body, appearance, engine)
-What is the best exhaust?

*****What are the best websites to purchase additional parts or add ons?

Hi, first welcome.

Second, a lot of what you are asking is subjective, and relates to your expectations. If you've never driven an M3, it's kind of hard to tell you what it's like, since you have no frame of reference.

Mine is my daily driver. I like driving it.

Third, to your other points, it depends on what YOU mean by things like 'major problems', 'best upgrade', and 'best exhaust'. indicates that MY 2008-2010 M3 Coupe 6MT cars have 'minimal problems':

A used M3 is like any used car purchase; look for good condition, acceptable maintenance, etc.

Some suggestions.

Locate a Certified Pre Owned M3 at a local BMW dealer. Test drive it. You will get a data point for a car in reasonably good condition.

Research this and other forums a while and READ THREADS until your eyes bleed. Get educated.

Set your budget, then look for a car that matches your price point and condition, and go test drive it. Be prepared to fly cross country for the right car, unless you are in a major metro area.

Good luck.
